Speech & Language Therapist

 

Oakley School is the Tunbridge Wells district co-educational, Special School for day pupils, aged from 2 to 18 years, all of whom have severe/complex needs and communication and learning difficulties.

 

We are committed towards becoming an Outstanding School, which provides a centre of therapeutic excellence to support the learning and achievement of all Oakley School students.

 

We are seeking an outstanding and experienced Speech & Language Therapist to join our vibrant, friendly, positive and forward-looking team, working across our three sites, from September 2017.

 

You will be joining a growing and dynamic Therapy Team, which includes Speech & Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Art Psychotherapist and Therapy Assistants. You will play an integral part in mapping the SaLT provision using the Balanced System and AAC, and working with our Therapy Assistants to support students to achieve their EHCP outcomes.

 

The ideal candidate will have experience of working with children and young people with learning difficulties, including Autism Spectrum Disorder and Down’s Syndrome, within an educational setting.

 

Hours: 37 hrs per week, working 8.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30am to 4.00pm on Fridays, with half an hour lunch break each day.

 

Salary: £28,048 to £32,078 per annum, dependent on qualifications and experience

 

We can also offer excellent training opportunities, including access to continued professional development and clinical supervision.
