The Friends of Oakley (our PTA) were a little concerned as we approached the Summer Fair that it might not come together as successfully as before. Changes in time and venue set them fretting that they would not get as much support as previously. How wrong they were!
Thanks to fantastic preparations by one and all, there was an air of calm about the whole event. The music and vintage car were great focal points and it was a pleasure to get families together for the choir – what a blast! Everyone was blown away by the standard of art on display, and very thankful to Beth Martin for putting it together for us to appreciate.
All in all a great collaborative event which successfully included the achievements of the students as well as entertaining them (hopefully!)
As always, we are dependent on parents, staff and this time, also the students, for an enjoyable event and really appreciate the efforts of all involved. It was also great to see some new faces behind stalls.
You will be pleased to hear that attendance was similar to last year 185 (2016-188). Income, including the raffle (but before costs) came to £1,825 (2016-£1,877).
THANK YOU to everyone who supported before, during and after the event.
