Primary School PE and Sport Funding was introduced by the Government in September 2013 with the aim of improving physical education and sport in Primary Schools as part of the London 2012 Olympic legacy. Funding was originally available for three academic years – 2013/14, 2014/15 and 2015/16, but the DfE has recently committed to extending it to 2020. The report below details the amount of funding received this year and how the School is spending this to engage pupils’ interest and involvement and promote pupils' health and well-being.
The funding has provided us with the chance to employ the services of outside agencies and specialist coaches that can come into the school and provide specific PE support.
Pupils from across all Key Stages have the opportunity to take part in a range of sporting activities including; cycling, horse riding, indoor rock climbing, swimming, fitness, games and golf. It is exciting to observe the skills, confidence and independence that your children can learn from our enrichment programme.
Please read the information below which gives details of our sports grants and how we allocate the funding.
