Oakley Pupil Shines on Children in Need: Celebrating Inclusion with This Is Us

On Friday 14 November, This Is Us visited Oakley for Children in Need Day, delivering an inspiring whole-school movement session across our Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells sites. Earlier, on Sunday 9 November, during the Strictly Come Dancing results show, Christopher from Phase 4 and his family shared their experience of life as a young person with SEN and the incredible work of This Is Us. We are immensely proud of Christopher and the This Is Us community for being recognised on national television.

Viewers were moved:
“What a beautiful Children In Need segment on This Is Us and Christopher. His mum’s not the only one who’s welling up.” – Somersetlass
“As a neurodivergent, I just wish I had the same support and understanding as this young man growing up. There are sometimes reasons to be happy about the future.” – LazyMillennial
