A warm welcome to Oakley School and on behalf of The Friends we personally wish you and your child an exciting and rewarding journey throughout their school life.

The Friends work very closely with the school, not only to offer the support of an understanding friendship to both parents and carers, we also provide additional resources where needed within school for the benefit of the children.

As well as supporting at events like parents evenings and sports days, we run two main events during the school year - the Christmas and Summer Fairs. By supporting these events you would be helping contribute funds to the school for the use of all of our children, with the added benefit of meeting up with other parents in a relaxed and familiar environment.

The Friends of Oakley is a registered charity and a member of the Parent Teacher Association.   We have our own Just Giving account to make fundraising even easier:

We have regular meetings to discuss fundraising and event planning. We also hold an Annual General Meeting; giving an update on finance, where monies raised have been spent and fundraising targets for the coming year. These are open meetings and all are welcome to attend.

The school website www.oakley.kent.sch.uk  is updated regularly with Newsletters and dates for meetings and forthcoming events.

How can you become involved and help?

Parents and carers of Oakley pupils automatically become a member of The Friends.  If you can help out on a stall or at an event, make cups of tea, wash up, bake a cake, supply a raffle prize, or have an idea for a fundraising event, we would love to hear from you.

How is the money spent?

Money raised by ‘Friends’ has most recently been contributed towards a school people carrier and state of the art sensory integration equipment, with £5,000 donated for each project.  We are also currently supporting the fundraising for the playgrounds.  We provide the Leavers sweatshirts each year, for all the children and young people who move on from Oakley School.
