The Oakley Nursery is a specialist Observation and Assessment Nursery for children with additional needs. Admission into the Nursery is through specific meetings – LIFT and MAP meetings. If your child receives a placement in the Oakley Nursery, we will arrange a home visit as well as organising a tour of our nursery and a few taster sessions.

Children in the nursery attend sessions throughout the week. We split the sessions into morning and afternoon sessions. We try to consider parents preference on sessions where possible but we are not always able to offer these. We initially try to offer approximately 3 sessions (morning and/or afternoon) when a child starts Nursery.

A key worker works closely with the parents and the child. They will be the person who will greet the child and their family at the beginning and end of each session. They will answer any questions and queries the parent may have and will feedback about the child’s session. The Key worker will heavily contribute to the child’s learning and will attend review meetings throughout the year where parents and other professionals will discuss the child’s development.
