• Oakley School Celebrates Her Majesty The Queen's 90th Birthday

  We are experiencing the wettest June ever apparently but that has not dampened our spirits here at Oakley as this afternoon we celebrated Her Majesty the Queen’s 90th Birthday at both our primary and secondary sites, in a truly British way—dressed in red, white and blue and eating scones (made by our students) and strawberries!

  After weeks of rehearsals and sound checks, this week we had the main event with heats on Monday 13th and Tuesday, 14th June before the Finals on Wednesday, 15th June.

   

  Our Key Stage 3, 4 & 5 students wowed and impressed the judges who found it so difficult to choose finalists, never mind winners.

   

  Our children and young people showed so much courage performing on a stage in front of their friends, teachers, LSAs and of course their families.  They all cheered each other on, congratulated and commiserated one another, but most of all they had fun.
