  • Children in Need 2018 - update

    Thu 22 Nov 2018

Thank you to everyone involved in the organising of Children in Need day and thank you to all our parents and carers for their support and donations. Together, from the gunge voting, cake sale and donations for wearing our pyjamas, we raised a fantastic £427.67 (compared to £355 last year). Well done everyone!

  • Children in Need 2018

    Fri 16 Nov 2018
Children in Need is one of our chosen charities for this year, so, as always, we threw ourselves into it whole heartedly!  Pupils and staff were invited to wear their pyjamas or a onesie into school for a donation of £1, we had a cake sale, pudsey art (pictured below), a Children in Need song and so much more.  The grand finale of the day was the gunging! We had asked members of staff to volunteer to be gunged and then over the past couple of weeks pupils have been voting (20p per vote) for their 'favourite' volunteer to be gunged!  This year's willing volunteer and gunging victim, with the most votes by a long way, was none other than Mr Gordon Tillman, Executive Head.  The photos below show just what a good sport he was, it's just a shame the photos don't capture the squeals of delight and laughter from our children and young people as they watched.  Thank you to everyone involved in the organising of the day and thank you to all our parents and carers for their support and donations, we will share the total amount raised as soon as we've finished collecting and counting.
  • Oakley's Spooktacular Halloween Disco

    Fri 02 Nov 2018
The Halloween Disco is always a highlight in the annual school calendar and this year was no exception.  Thursday, 1st November saw Phase 2 and 3 pupils leave school as normal, in their school uniform, only to return a few hours later dressed as ghosts, witches, skeletons and even mystical unicorns!  Oh what a night and what a wonderful, family atmosphere, as everyone; pupils, siblings, parents, carers and staff danced the night away in our haunted (dining) hall. Thank you to everyone who came and made the evening such a great success for our children and young people.
