Registered charity Number 1138118

A warm welcome to Oakley School and on behalf of The Friends, we personally wish you and your child an exciting and rewarding journey throughout their school life.

The Friends of Oakley School is a registered charity and a member of the Parent Teacher Association (PTA). We are passionate about raising funds to support our school and our children and young people through their educational journey.

Our committee is made of Trustees:

Co - ChairsVictoria Roberts and Gayle Hobden
HeadteacherSam Perryman
Treasurer Ian Boswell
Secretary Vacancy

We run two main fundraising events of the year, the Christmas and Summer Fairs. We also apply for various grants and assist at events on the school calendar such as parents evening and sports days.

Should you wish to make any donations or set up any sponsorship for events/marathons we have two ways you can do this:

Peoples Fundraising

Just Giving

We have regular meetings to discuss fundraising and event planning. We also hold an Annual General Meeting sharing updates on: finance, where monies raised have been spent and fundraising targets for the coming year. These are open meetings, and all are welcome to attend.

The school website www.oakley.kent.sch.uk  is updated regularly with Newsletters and dates for meetings and forthcoming events.

How can you become involved and help?

Parents and Carers of pupils attending Oakley School automatically become a member of The Friends of Oakley School. We understand that finding time can be difficult. We are not asking for full time commitment, just a little help, such as:

  • Volunteer some time at events
  • Offer leads for fundraising or sponsorship
  • Help source raffle prizes
  • Does your employer offer fund matching?
  • Do you have any skills such as baking or crafting?
  • Maybe you have experience in fundraising?
  • By supporting Friends of Oakley School you can help raise funds for our school with the benefit of meeting up with other families in a relaxed and familiar environment.

Tunbridge Wells Lotto &  Easy Fundraising.

How is Money Spent?

Monies raised by Friends has most recently (2023) contributed towards;

  • £7000 (Phase 3 area)
  • £500 (On forest school picnic tables)
  • £7000 (Phase 4 Kitchens)
  • £1000 (pantomime Visits)

We work alongside the school to determine what current projects can be supported, and funds are agreed by committee members during our regular meetings.

If you would like to help out in any of the way please get in touch to be added to our Friends WhatsApp group. See what’s being planned and be able to offer help when best suits you. Please email Vicki or Gayle at friends@oakley.kent.sch.uk

We look forward to meeting you soon, with best wishes
