Sam Perryman - Headteacher

Welcome

Hello

Welcome to our school website where you will find key information about our school.

Oakley School is the district Special School for children and young people from 2 to 19 years with a wide range of special educational needs. All of our pupils have profound, severe and/or complex needs, have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) and attend one of our three sites.

Our children and young people are at the heart of everything we do.

We are ambitious for our pupils and offer a rich Creative Curriculum that promotes practical, real life learning across the curriculum. Our skilled and dedicated staff team work very hard to make learning motivating, interactive, challenging and fun, whilst ensuring that all our children and young people feel safe, valued and self-confident.  We promote “Skills for Life and Independence” so that when they leave Oakley School, our young people have the best opportunities to be happy, fulfilled and contributing citizens.

We also offer extensive enrichment activities including clubs, trips and residential experiences in the United Kingdom and abroad. These opportunities provide our children and young people time and experiences to find out more about themselves and prepare for the world around them.

We work effectively across our school community with Parents and Carers, Therapists, NHS Colleagues and other professionals and external organisations to best support and meet the needs of our pupils.

It is my privilege to be the Headteacher at Oakley School and we welcome you to visit the school (by appointment) so you can meet pupils and staff and experience our very special school.

Best wishes

Sam Perryman
