It's all about the birds!
This term has been all about the birds during our Phase 2 Forest School sessions. Chestnut, Cherry & Maple classes made alternative bird feeders by pushing cheese, apple, raisins and cheerios onto wire hoops. The birds loved those; they didn't last long! Ash and Willow Classes made and painted bird boxes to replace the old ones in the woods. It was hard work banging in the nails but they did a great job and some of the children have taken responsibility for remembering to fill up our bird feeders with seed. Finally, we joined the RSPB Big School's Bird Watch - opening up the hide and trying to stay as quiet as possible while we identified the birds that we could see and hear.
